TerraSur Geofísica SpA is a science-based technology company from Concepción, Chile, founded in 2024. We develop in-house 3D magnetotelluric inversion technology and offer it as a service to geophysical contractors and exploration teams in mining, groundwater and geothermal.
Our purpose is to bring geophysical modeling methods developed in academic research into everyday exploration work, with verifiable, documented results.
We work with MT data already acquired by the client or its contractor. Every project starts with a discovery call and ends with a joint review of the results.

Vicente Yáñez Cuadra, M.Sc.
CEO and CTO
I oversee the company’s technology strategy and design the deep‑learning model. I led the development of our main technology from TRL 3 to TRL 5. My background includes geology, geophysical data processing, data science, and deep learning, with peer‑reviewed publications. I founded TerraSur Geofísica SpA to build a scientific‑technology‑driven business.

I lead the company strategy, client relations, and our ties with the innovation ecosystem. My experience spans machine learning, optimization problems, big data, and mining.
Natalia Díaz Salazar, M.Sc.
Geophysicist
I specialize in inverse models, focusing on Bayesian methods for high‑dimensional problems. I also bring a solid background in seismology and earthquake research, enriching our team’s capability to tackle complex geophysical challenges.
Katarzyna Anna Ślęzak, Ph.D.
Geophysicist
I offer extensive experience with magnetotelluric (MT) data acquisition, modeling, and interpretation, backed by high‑impact publications and an international research network. I trained the team on MT fundamentals, benchmarked forward‑modeling codes, and connected the project with leading MT academics worldwide.

Startup Ciencia is a grant program of Chile’s National Research and Development Agency (Agencia Nacional de Investigación y Desarrollo, ANID) for science- and technology-based companies. We were awarded the grant in 2024 and a second time in its 2026 edition.
In 2026 we were also selected for OpenBeauchef’s OpenStartups G7 program (Universidad de Chile), which supports science- and technology-based ventures in their validation and growth.
